Our company is a leading interactive advertising agency with offices in New York City and Charleston. We help our clients create and develop online marketing strategies, provide media planning & buying services as well as a full range of media service including data analytics, tracking, measurement and ad serving.
We seek highly motivated individuals who will make meaningful contributions to our rapidly growing agency. The ideal candidates will have a tireless work ethic, strong writing and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments. In the role of Director, Search Engine Marketing, you will be directly responsible for all facets of the Search Marketing division of the agency, including recruiting and hiring, training, team supervision, and account management on strategic accounts.
COMPENSATION:
Your compensation package will include a base salary and performance bonus.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Paid Search (SEM):
• Work with search team members as team lead to develop search marketing strategy for all new and existing clients
• Develop the final SEM recommendation and buy summary
• Present the recommendation to the client
• Manage search team members to ensure execution of defined strategy is successful
• Oversee search team members to ensure all client objectives and goals are being successfully met
• Auditing and trouble-shooting for existing campaigns, making recommendations for improvement
• Implementation and testing/troubleshooting of tracking and analytics solutions – Must have a deep understanding of tracking systems and how to remedy tracking issues at both a conceptual and technical level
• Create preliminary measurement strategies (testing, benchmarking, future implications)
• Ensure that search team members are effectively analyzing and utilizing all campaign data to improve campaign efficiencies
• Complete campaign management for strategic agency accounts
• Develop and present client reporting, highlighting relevant learning gained and recommendations for future campaigns on strategic accounts
• Invoice reconciliation from search engines/bill-pay process for clients
• Manage search team to ensure reporting and billing reconciliation process for all search accounts is accurate, error free, and meets timelines
• Ongoing training of new search team members as well as ongoing training for existing search team members to ensure each team member is up to date with best practices and new developments and opportunities in search marketing
RESPONSIBILITIES – Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
• Develop the SEO strategies and recommendations for all new and existing clients
• Develop pricing structure and plan for all SEO efforts
• Present the recommendation to the client
• Ongoing account management (both on-site and off-site optimization tactics) to ensure execution of defined strategy is successful
• Auditing and trouble-shooting for existing campaigns, making recommendations for improvement
• Create preliminary measurement strategies (testing, benchmarking, future implications)
• Evaluation of all current and needed SEO tools to improve campaign efficiencies
• Develop and present client reporting, highlighting relevant learning gained and recommendations for future campaigns on strategic accounts
• Ongoing training of new SEO team members
• Keep up to date on SEO best practices and changes to search engine algorithms
REQUIREMENTS:
• Senior level knowledge of SEM and SEO marketing tactics and best practices across multiple engines
• Deep working knowledge of Google, Yahoo Search, and MSN Search a MUST; working knowledge of second-tier search engines preferred
• Proficient in managing large amounts of data and ability to interpret and extract meaningful insight from data
• Understanding of the strengths/weaknesses of media research tools and how to effectively use them
• Must be extremely detail oriented with strong attention to follow-through
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Ability to manage owned clients and also lead a growing team of search specialists who work on-site as well as remotely
• Flexible in work functions and duties
• Ability to manage multiple strategic clients and campaigns and meet deadlines
• PC proficiency and strong skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel) essential
• Working knowledge of Omniture SiteCatalyst, Omniture SearchCenter, and ability to create and develop rules for bid management applications
• Exceptional time management skills
• Strong leadership and team player skills
• Must be available to work in Charleston office
